You can reach The Guard Patrol on foot from Rokytnice nad Jizerou, or from its local part Františkov. The walk through the forest is a pleasant part of the trip itself – the climb is not just a way to reach the viewpoints, but a gradual opening of the landscape. The viewing platforms then offer several different perspectives of the town below, the surrounding ridges and Krkonoše landmarks that can only be glimpsed in fragments from the streets below.
The site is suitable for families, couples and anyone who wants to experience something different in Rokytnice than a classic route to the ridge. The viewpoints are freely accessible, but in rain, frost or strong wind, it is better to postpone the visit because of the exposed viewing sections.
