Founded in 1873 as a museum of applied arts, the museum still reflects the strong craft, industrial and cultural heritage of the Liberec region. Its collections cover natural history, history and art history, revealing the region in a surprisingly wide context. The building itself, designed in a Romantic Historicist style, is well worth attention – not only as a home to the collections, but also as an architectural landmark of Masarykova Street.
