Visitors walk through spaces carved into the rock, corridors, terraces and viewpoints that gradually reveal the unusual character of the whole site. The castle’s history blends with the later period of hermits, who gave the rock another layer and turned it into a place with a strong spiritual and romantic atmosphere.
You can extend your trip to Sloup Rock Castle with a walk to the Na Stráži lookout tower, which stands just a short distance from the rock viewpoints above Sloup v Čechách. The modern lookout structure offers views of the village, the surrounding sandstone rocks, the Lusatian Mountains and the landscape around Nový Bor.
