The end of the Second World War brought fundamental changes to Europe – among them the adjustment of borders and the expulsion of the German-speaking population from Czechoslovakia. How did the organized displacement and resettlement of abandoned border areas proceed from January 1946? Who newly settled the region in northern Bohemia? How are the social, demographic, and economic impacts of this migration of millions of people visible in the society and landscape around us even today, eighty years later? The film and subsequent debate seek answers in the North Bohemian borderlands.
