The Oder-Neisse Cycle Route is an exceptional long-distance trail connecting three countries and three cultures – Czechia, Germany and Poland. Even its Czech beginning is one of the most varied sections of the entire route. It combines towns with rich history, quiet river valleys, monuments and places made for relaxing by the water.
The source of the Lusatian Neisse is the symbolic beginning of the entire Oder-Neisse Cycle Route. In the quiet landscape on the edge of the Jizera Mountains, the river begins its journey, gradually connecting three countries and becoming the natural thread of the whole route. A stop at the source is a reminder that even a great international journey can begin quietly – in the greenery, away from the city rush, with the north just starting to open up.

Jablonec nad Nisou is a town of glass, costume jewellery and jewellery-making tradition. At the State Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou, you can discover the story of fragile beauty that made the region famous far beyond its borders. The exhibitions present glass, costume jewellery, Christmas ornaments and design, and clearly show why the Jablonec area is one of the key hearts of Crystal Valley. Since 2026, the museum has carried the name State Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou.
The Jablonec reservoir is one of the most popular places to relax in the city. It offers a pleasant stop by the water, opportunities for swimming, a walk along the shore and views towards the Jizera Mountains. For cyclists, it is an ideal pause before continuing the route.
Ještěd is one of the strongest symbols of Northern Bohemia. The mountain with its iconic transmitter and hotel by architect Karel Hubáček attracts lovers of architecture, views and mountain atmosphere. From the Oder-Neisse Cycle Route, it makes a striking detour to a panorama that is inseparable from the Liberec region.
Kryštofovo Údolí is one of the most picturesque stops around the Ještěd Ridge. The village attracts visitors with its timbered and half-timbered houses, the Church of St Christopher, a wooden bell tower and the Museum of Nativity Scenes, which reflects local tradition and handcraft. Nearby stands the massive railway viaduct in Novina, a technical monument so strongly set into the landscape that it has become one of the symbols of the area.
Kristýna Recreation Area in Hrádek nad Nisou is an ideal place to relax by the water just before the border with Germany and Poland. The lake offers swimming, beaches, sports facilities and the pleasant atmosphere of a place where the Czech section of the route slowly turns into the Three-Country Border region.
