What all can be hidden within a musical letter?
Lípa Musica invites you to Sychrov Castle for an evening dedicated to two giants of Czech music – Antonín Dvořák and Leoš Janáček. Their works are connected by a profound personal and absolutely sincere confession, though each speaks of love and longing in a completely different language.
Dvořák's Cypresses bring fragility, tenderness, and nostalgia. While Dvořák sings his love for the world in lovely melodies, Janáček literally shouts it into the strings in bold, modern colors.
All this performed by the young ensemble Kukal Quartet, a rising star in the Czech quartet firmament.
