A Sorrow Like No Other / COLLEGIUM VOCALE GENT AT THE LÍPA MUSICA FESTIVAL EPILOGUE

Liberec is in for an extraordinary musical experience. The grand finale of the festival's jubilee year will be provided by the world-renowned Belgian ensemble Collegium Vocale Gent.

Over more than fifty years, its founder Philippe Herreweghe has built the ensemble into one of the most respected groups specializing in historically informed performance of early music.

Now, the ensemble will be led by the Czech soprano Barbora Kabátková, who will present works by Renaissance masters with Collegium Vocale Gent.

The project she is bringing is a musical tribute to one of the greatest composers of the Renaissance, Josquin Desprez, and his spiritual pupil Jean Richafort, who responded to Josquin's death with his impressive composition, Missa pro defunctis.
