Explore the transformation of the swimming pool in the Jizera Mountains with the renovation's author, architect Jan Vondrák from the Mjölk studio.
The swimming pool at the confluence of two streams near Lidové sady was built between 1937–1940 by the construction firm Preibisch and Reinelt together with gardener Josef Peschel. The site was in use until 2007, when it closed and began to fall into disrepair. A turning point came in 2016 with the first phase of urban revitalization. Four years later, it was taken over by the Lesní koupaliště association, and in 2025, a new bathhouse was completed – a small white wooden structure made of spruce panels with a striking turquoise steel roof, designed by the Mjölk studio. This year, it is nominated for the Czech Architecture Award.
