Architecture Day: Energy Center - Coal Tower and Boiler House

History of this industrial monument from 1916–1918 with conservationist and technical heritage specialist Petr Freiwillig. Free reservations from Sep 13, 2026, on GoOut.

Architect Leopold Bauer designed this three-story brick tower for textile magnate Alfréd Ginzkey, combining two functions: a large-capacity coal silo and a water tower. The unique technical infrastructure has been preserved, along with remnants of the rail system used to transport coal into the tower, from where it moved to the adjacent boiler house. The structure has been a protected cultural monument since 2015.
